"This is about the contrast between 'normality' (suburban life) and the lingering effects of traumatic experiences. This character is based on countless people I have been privileged to work with. This character is lost to the shadows, even in a normal setting. PTSD can affect anyone, anywhere, and can lurk even in the blandest of places."
Alana Sawrey is a clinical art therapist who also loves art for her own enjoyment and expression. She finds the process of sitting with ideas and then communicating them so cathartic (and necessary even) for maintaining her own good mental health.
After years of hard work, Alana is living the life she’s always wanted – all the while coexisting with anxiety that has threatened to swallow her whole at various points in time.
Alana loves working with people to uncover things hidden and unexpressed, and to bring light to dark places through creative intervention.
