Artworks are first available for purchase by sponsors and dignitaries before being available in person at the Exhibition in Brisbane. Unsold artworks can also be purchased online following the event.
"'NE Beach' is an artwork I created as an exploration of the world around me. Waves gently rolling into a sandy shore lead into the cool shade of a tree seaside. Completed in a geometric abstract style, the artwork represents an idealised image of mental peace; a moment of calm amongst a world of chaos."
Dean Crozier is Brisbane-based queer artist whose art reflects the world around and the world within. Using geometric design and abstract images, Dean creates works that capture the eye and challenge the mind. The use of bright and vibrant colour is a key aspect of the art he creates and is often at odds with the dark themes they represent.
Dean reconnected with art approximately four years ago after a traumatic medical diagnosis which resulted in severe depression. While working with a therapist, Dean rediscovered art as a means to explore the challenges he still deals with today.
Although the majority of Dean’s work explores themes resulting from his personal struggles with mental health, the images created have a greater buoyancy and energy than the themes they portray.
