Zes Yof is a multidisciplinary artist and musician born in Naarm, now residing in Meanjin after years travelling the globe. Zes exudes a triumphant appreciation for our bittersweet individual human experiences in every piece she creates, by utilising concepts from the Japanese art form Kintsugi - the art of repairing broken ceramics with gold or silver.
Rather than disposing of a broken item, Kintsugi converts once-perceived flaws by making them the most beautiful part of the repaired bowl, plate or vase.
Zes identifies as a gender fluid person, but call her any pronouns, they don't mind! Zes experiences anxiety, depression, complex PTSD and is neurodivergent. She embodies a message of loving-kindness and compassion to all who cross her path.
