Intensive, freewheeling creative discussions with myself
A problem-solving mindscape with lateral thinking
Floating all kinds of colourful, innovative ways
Bringing forward a kaleidoscope of types of ideas
No right or wrong for now
Bright ideas splatter out and flow
Teleporting myself to a different time and place
Putting myself in other people’s shoes
To imagine how they’d see the solutions
Oh, is there a hypothetical superpower such as X-ray vision to solve a problem? Maybe."
Carol Owens is a Brisbane artist who has a dynamic sense of colour and is a free-flowing, emotive and intuitive painter. She finds expression through the texture and application of the paint and draws inspiration from her sense of connection with self, others and the environment.
Carol is more productive when creating within a community of practice. She participates in creative portraiture class within the University of the Third Age and enjoys painting and drawing in New Farm Park.
Carol likes brainstorming ideas with others when creating her intuitively-based paintings. She believes it’s easier to find ‘creative flow’ when listening to music, birds or rustling trees in the outdoors.
