"A blast of music
Infuses my mind-scape… I let go
Find my flow
It’s almost meditative
My body moves
Dissociated from gotta-do’s and worry.
Free-falling moments
Transcending the micro-managing ego
Oh, stay in this zone!
Focus emerges, intensifies
A sense of ecstasy… clarity
Knowing exactly what to do from one moment to the other
Amplifying my soul
Urging me to stretch my body and mind to the limits
Be who I am, face challenges, learn and don’t look back."
Carol Owens is a Brisbane artist who has a dynamic sense of colour and is a free-flowing, emotive and intuitive painter. She finds expression through the texture and application of the paint and draws inspiration from her sense of connection with self, others and the environment.
Carol is more productive when creating within a community of practice. She participates in creative portraiture class within the University of the Third Age and enjoys painting and drawing in New Farm Park.
Carol likes brainstorming ideas with others when creating her intuitively-based paintings. She believes it’s easier to find ‘creative flow’ when listening to music, birds or rustling trees in the outdoors.
