Not One, Not Two
Amanda is a Brisbane-based mixed media abstract artist, whose work explores her experience of receiving a late) ADHD diagnosis. As part of her journey to unmask and rediscover her true self, Amanda picked up a paint brush for the first time in 20 years. She enjoys working with several mediums, creating pieces that reflect the complexities of her healing journey.
Amanda enjoys a myriad of creative outlets, from writing poetry to photography, but finds drawing and painting particularly effective in filtering out the noise in her mind and helping process her thinking. Through her artwork, Amanda hopes to demonstrate the belief that all parts of the healing journey, whether high or low, are exquisite in their own way.

Inspired by the complexity of a dual diagnosis, this piece explores the discomfort of living in-between. A grid of imperfect dots hints at a longing for structure, constantly disrupted by internal noise. It is neither this nor that - neither disorder nor symmetry. Order and chaos, control and surrender coexist. A gold band offers a brief moment of clarity. In this space of contradiction, I embrace complexity - not broken, but beautifully intertwined and intricate.
