The Light We Carry

Yvie is a Brisbane/Meanjin based mixed media artist, whose background is in community art and teaching. She has coined herself a 'process artist', explaining that her art making is less about trying to control any medium, and more about working alongside it. She is sometimes surprised by where the journey leads, and there are always side quests! Yvie's vibrant abstracts often take on ethereal or whimsical natural forms.

Lately I've had a real urge to explore the many ways I can bring more light into my art. I've always had a fascination with unusual creatures, and it felt natural and exciting to combine them in a bioluminescent ocean.
