Kath is a Brisbane-based visual artist whose work embodies the nurturing of mind, body, soul, and spirit. Her childhood dreams of creating were derailed by the impact of living with persistent anxiety. Mid-life finally brought the courage to fully embrace her artistic passion.

Kath’s work explores the duality of inner experiences of existence alongside our external presence in the world. She draws on biomorphic forms, cartography, and neurographic processes as she embraces exploration, experimentation, and discovery.

For Kath, the process of creating art is transformative and meditative, providing a place of calm and peace. She believes art is essential for wellbeing and aspires to share this cathartic - or kathartique - experience through her artwork.

At the heart of 'Sticks and Stones' lies a potent question: What do words leave behind? Spoken to others, about others, or to ourselves, words settle like sediment, layering our inner terrain - our emotional geography - with invisible but lasting impact.

This piece is an invitation to consider the world we create with our words. We each have the right to speak. We also have the power to choose language that uplifts, respects, and connects. Words are powerful; wield them well.
