Jude Scott is a Brisbane/Meanjin-based visual artist who works with acrylics and textured mediums to create coastal inspired abstracts and realistic paintings in her unique style.

Growing up, creating art was Jude’s sanctuary; a place she could escape feelings of overwhelm. In recent years, discovering and working through her neurodiversity has provided clarity on nuances that have caused discomfort in her life. Finding different strategies to combat this has been helpful. 

Her art practice continues to be a truly healing experience; a place of solace and optimism, helping pave the way to well-being.

This piece represents my abstract interpretation of rock pools, ocean waters, islands, and rock formations along the Australian coastline. Created intuitively using multiple layers of textured mediums, I love bringing this range of colours together in my art. The addition of glass beads adds an extra textured dimension, being beautifully reflective in catching the light, which resembles sunlight on water.
