Anne Scanlon is a self-taught, Brisbane-based multimedia artist with a love of small details. She enjoys capturing the joy and light of everyday life across a range of mediums, including acrylics, oils, and oil pastels. The iconic and critically endangered swift parrot is mesmerising with its colourful feathers and quirky nature. I created this piece to remind myself that without conservation and change, swift parrots might only be seen in images and memories. When we care enough to change our behaviour or offer support, however small, the positive outcomes become tangible. This little parrot is asking all of us to notice, care, and contribute to positive change to ensure that she, and many other native species, not only survive but flourish for generations to come.
