Trudy Tathem has been painting, creating, and exhibiting her work across Brisbane for many years, finding both joy and escapism in the artistic process. Her work draws inspiration from the elegance of Art Nouveau and Art Deco, as well as the enduring strength of feminine icons and fashion. Flora and fauna often weave through her creations, sometimes playfully and subtly, adding layers of surprise.
Central to Trudy's art are women - muses, goddesses, and myths - reimagined through her unique style. She delights in intricate linework, lush patterns, and the use of collage and texture. Trudy's goal has always been to create pieces that are colourful, uplifting, and engaging for the viewer.

This gorgeous little fox is nestled within a vibrant, colourful garden. He guards his home, just as his home gently protects and surrounds him. This piece is symbolic of the sense of safety we feel in our own homes - how fiercely we protect our personal space, and how, like in nature, that safety can also be fragile.
