Flowers in Vase

Bob has been passionate about painting from a young age, with his natural talent becoming both a strength and a creative outlet. In 1986, Bob graduated from the Queensland College of Art with a Certificate in Applied Art and Honours in Drawing, Painting, and Illustration. 

A prolific artist, Bob has a particular love for working in oils. He also works with pastels to great effect, winning awards for his pieces. Bob often paints landscapes on large canvases, showcasing his skill in depicting trees and vibrant natural scenes. His artworks have been collected locally and purchased by international visitors.

This is a still life piece featuring my yellow vase. Working in pastels gives the artwork a softer, more delicate feel compared to my oil paintings. I’ve aimed to capture the subtle colours and tones of the flowers, and I feel the pinkish background complements and lifts the entire composition beautifully. The pastel is framed under non-reflective glass.
