A Moment in Time

Jan is an artist from Ipswich with Fijian-Indian heritage, working primarily in acrylics and watercolours. She is drawn to vibrant colours, which allow her to express both her personality and her shifting moods. 

Jan has lived with mental health challenges - particularly depression - for much of her life. Through caring for others facing similar struggles, she brings a deep sense of empathy to both her creative process and interactions with her fellow humans. 

'A Moment in Time' is inspired by my love for spending time in nature and gardens - places where I find peace, beauty, and reflection. This piece features a small flower garden with gently rising steps, framed by three elegant palm trees. I chose acrylic as my medium because I find it easy to work with, allowing me to capture the vibrant colours and textures of the scene with fluidity and ease.
