By Duane Doyle

Duane Doyle is an artist from the Jiman mob in Carnarvon Gorge Country, where many rivers come together as one water, Gummoo Woongarra. His totem is the scrub turkey, Googoobing.

Guided by Dadirri - a practice of deep listening - Duane weaves this way of being into his work as both a painter and cultural educator. A proud member of the West End Community House Art Gang, Duane's public work can be found in People’s Park on Boundary Street and along Riverside Drive, West End.

For Duane, art is a bridge to healing, offering connection to family, culture, Country, and community.

While there is sadness for me to reflect on how Boundary Street, West End, was named, the kiosk in People’s Park on Boundary Street is our gathering place to connect and share. The painting style in these hands came to me when I was creating a mural at the kiosk. The Old People, especially the women meeting, are in these hands.
