The Fisho Boys
After meeting her husband, Artymsrosie settled into family life in Brisbane and raised three sons. In 2014, following a home invasion and lack of police support, she developed PTSD and later relocated to Kabi Kabi/Jinibara Country (Sunshine Coast).
In 2020, an assault left Artymsrosie without full use of her hands, preventing her from playing guitar, drums, or piano, as well as crocheting, gardening, or doing heavy work. Living with chronic pain, Artymsrosie embraced art more fully than ever.
No longer needing to tape brushes to her bandages, Artymsrosie continues to create with heart and a photo-realistic quality, expressing the beauty of truth through her art.

I felt this to be a dynamic and interesting subject - mundane yet truthful. The fish markets are always so busy and colourful. I love eating fish and decided that the place I buy the freshest and best fish should have a painting done by the freshest and best (I am actually way too old to be called the freshest)! I’m deeply connected to the area we’ve chosen to call home, and this iconic local venue holds a special place in my heart.
