On Reflection (Boobook Owl)
Kristy-Ann is an Australian artist with a passion for birds. More than just capturing a visual likeness, Kristy-Ann creates art that shares special moments she has spent watching birds.
She portrays the beautiful places they live and their fascinating behaviours; black swans ripping green weed from the bottom of a river, pelicans preening and leaving a trail of soft feathers in the water, grey fantails dancing amongst the trees.
Kristy-Ann creates art that is both true to the subject and her own interpretation of the mood, producing unique and vibrant works. An important part of Kristy Ann's healing in her own mental health journey, she hopes her art also brings joy to others.

I was drawn to this Boobook’s stillness and the tree scape reflected in its steady gaze. In painting this intimate portrayal of the Boobook owl, I was reminded of the power of reflection - not just on what we see, but how we see it. Each of us interprets the world through our own unique lens. In stillness and nature, we find clarity, and in reflection, a deeper understanding of both ourselves and the world around us.
