Marley
Born and raised in Canberra, Jacqui has always been a creative person who struggled with her mental health. Growing up, Jacqui, like most young teens of her generation, was force-fed images of the 'ideal body'. A reflection of her past is seen within her current works, which push hard against these damaging ideals.
Since moving to Brisbane in 2019, Jacqui has dedicated herself to a creative career and opening a discussion about body image and identity.
"I hope you see a part of yourself in my works; perhaps a part you've been taught to dim or hide from the world. I see you; you are beautiful."

Marley was there when everything turned to shit. He saw all the stuff that went on behind closed doors. I woke up every morning saying his name, dancing in front of him and watching him get really excited for food. He was something to look after. If I died, he died. Although he was just a fish, he resembled so much more - a purpose. What do I wake up to now? What do I take care of now? - Diary entry, 2013
