Inner Landscape

Art has been a lifelong companion for Katie - a way to process, to heal, and to speak. For her, creativity is a way of coming home to herself. Alongside Katie's own practice, she works as an artist facilitator with Micah Projects: Lotus Place and Brisbane Common Ground, creating spaces where others can explore their creativity, express their truth, and connect in meaningful ways.

For Katie, her personal art practice is messy, honest, and intuitive - an act of love and self-care that helps her make sense of the world and remain connected to who she is. Through painting, collage, sculpture, or whatever materials are at hand, Katie explores memory, emotion, and the deep stories we carry. 

Above all, Katie is grateful for the role art plays not only in her own life, but also in the lives of those she walks alongside.

‘Inner Landscape’ is a moment captured through mark making - raw, colourful, and intuitive. Using oil pastel, I follow feeling and sensation, allowing shapes and emotions to emerge without trying to control or explain them. It’s an exploration of what’s happening inside - sometimes messy, sometimes quiet, always honest. This work reflects how I meet myself in the moment through colour and line, and how I stay connected to what’s real, beneath the surface.
