Zes Yof is a multidisciplinary artist and musician, born in Naarm and now based in Meanjin after years of travelling the globe. Her work carries a triumphant appreciation for the bittersweet nature of human experience, often drawing inspiration from the Japanese art of Kintsugi - the practice of repairing broken ceramics with gold or silver. Rather than hiding flaws, Kintsugi celebrates them, transforming fractures into the most beautiful part of the vessel.
Identifying as gender fluid (with any pronouns welcomed), Zes lives with anxiety, depression, complex PTSD, and neurodivergence. Through her art and music, she embodies a message of compassion and loving-kindness, offering connection and hope to all who cross her path.

‘Grey St Busway with Crane Atop QPAC’ captures a dynamic moment in Meanjin’s cityscape, where construction cranes rise above cultural landmarks. Created with charcoal, ink, and watercolour, the piece blends bold lines with vibrant colour blocks to reflect the energy and movement of urban life. The layered composition suggests both structure and spontaneity, highlighting contrasts between the built environment and creative expression.
