Beryl

Alexandra Ellen is a Brisbane/Meanjin-based visual artist, photographer, and theatre maker. She takes a multidisciplinary approach to her artistic practice, which crosses form.

Alexandra Ellen believes artists are storytellers. Her art and advocacy work is underpinned by a passion and drive to see disabled stories shared by authentic voices. 

Living with depression since childhood, Alexandra Ellen draws on art therapy and storytelling as part of her recovery. She regularly participates in Access Arts workshops and programs. Her visual arts practice is expressive and intuitive, exploring mixed media and experimental techniques. Over the past six years, Alexandra Ellen has contributed to many collaborative exhibitions including with Access Arts, Art from the Margins and Recovered Futures. She curated her first solo exhibition, Outside Inside, in 2019.
