What The Exhibition Is about

Recovered Futures is a curated art exhibition that shares creative works by artists with lived experience of mental health recovery.

The exhibition creates space for personal stories, reflection, and dialogue through visual art, offering audiences an opportunity to engage with recovery as a lived, creative, and human experience.

Recovered Futures is hosted by Richmond Fellowship Queensland as part of its commitment to amplifying lived experience voices through community and cultural initiatives.

3 to 8 October | King George Square

"We are our own biggest critics and I think being able to put it (the art) up there and see the reactions from people shows us that 'oh, I'm actually better than I think I am.'"
— Pauly Jay (2024 Artist In Residence)
"I just happened to see the exhibition and decided to have a look but I'm really glad I did. Many of the artworks were amazing and really made me think and have a genuine response which is something I have never particularly experienced before."
— S (2024 visitor)
"I love the way mental health well-being is portrayed in most of the paintings. It makes me think about my dark times and how I overcome them. And it made me realise how far I have come."
— Camilla (2024 visitor)
