Kerry Dodds was inspired to paint as therapy in 2019 after discovering a fascination with light and colour, and how they affect or convey mood.

Kerry is a self-taught artist, working mainly in acrylic and mixed media, taking inspiration from landscapes and the human experience. Kerry works from her home studio in Petrie, Queensland.

I created 'Wet’n’Dry' while delving into the contrasts and parallels between Australia’s extreme weather patterns and the human psyche.

The vibrant hues and fluid forms symbolise the interplay of wet and dry seasons, mirroring the highs and lows of mental health.

This abstract landscape invites contemplation on resilience and adaptation, encouraging viewers to reflect on the profound impact of environmental and emotional fluctuations in their lives. The painting captures the beauty and challenges inherent in both nature and the mind.
