Born and raised in Hobart, Tasmania, Clinton moved to the Gold Coast at age 23 with his then wife to work as a chef. Clinton worked at multiple restaurants as a head and executive chef until a nervous breakdown at age 40 - due to stress at work, financial pressure and issues in his personal life.
Clinton was admitted to hospital for six months where he was diagnosed with schizophrenia. At the time, Clinton thought he was 'mad or crazy' and needed to get back in touch with his roots. It was at this time, Clinton found Christianity.
Today, Clinton lives a pretty stable and calm life. Behind his painting inspiration is his love and faith in Jesus, which he sees as a tool to spread peace and blessings through art.
"I walked to Coles to buy groceries where I saw a pregnant lady and felt inspired by her. This painting represents new beginnings, and the ability to give life."
