Andrew K is a self-taught artist based in Brisbane/Meanjin, Australia. He creates vibrant and expressive paintings that explore the beauty and diversity of people and nature, with social and environmental issues featuring strongly throughout. He is inspired by the colours and shapes of the natural world, as well as the stories and emotions of the human experience.
Oils, charcoal and pastels capture the mood, movement, and texture of Andrew’s subjects. His paintings reflect his passion for life, his hopes and fears and the stories he hopes connect with others.

Stuck, bleak and struggling. This is how I was feeling when I painted this. Depression and anxiety have visited me at different times; they can appear eternal. The feelings can grip and hold. Fight and forgiveness are needed. Thankfully, for me, the feelings have always faded.
