Artworks are first available for purchase by sponsors and dignitaries before being available in person at the Exhibition in Brisbane. Unsold artworks can also be purchased online following the event.
"Crying is universal. Just like laughter, crying has no language barrier. The subject brings back memories of sadder times, but these make me feel grateful as I realise how far I've come. It's OK to feel down. Like tears, these feelings are temporary. My intention is not to sadden you, but to provoke a feeling and sit with it for a moment."

Vanessa Harvey started selling her art in a mental health hospital in 2016. Her room on the ward came to be called 'The Gallery'. She found that she could relate to others and their feelings through her portraits.
Vanessa also uses the expressions of portraiture to try to grow a deeper understanding of the feelings she experiences, as these can be difficult to manage at times.
