"In my recent work, ‘Reborn’, I reflect on a dark period in my life, from a brighter place. For years I struggled with personal demons, but over time, found the strength to break free and rediscover joy in the simplest things. ‘Reborn’ represents an awakening; a sense of coming back to life after a long period of darkness."

Based in Brisbane, Francie Fran is a contemporary figurative artist whose works have been exhibited locally and internationally. Through her pieces, Francie explores and shares her personal experiences, using art as a means of processing them.
She began oil painting in 2021. Over time, a series of works emerged known as her ‘Sad Girl’ series, which includes both ‘Stir the Dust’ and ‘Reborn’.
Reflected in the faces of the women she was painting, Francie began to process and understand the anxiety and depression she was experiencing. Painting became the therapy that fuelled her recovery.
Through art, Francie seeks to capture a feeling of freedom and inspire others to find their own path towards self-discovery and growth.
