Dwayne Allen is a local artist living on the Sunshine Coast, who was personally trained by Mr Robert Gordon Munz, who in turn was trained by Picasso.
In the early 1970s, after undergoing groundbreaking heart surgery as a small child, Dwayne's passion for art began to flourish during the long rehabilitation period. As Dwayne also lives with OCD, painting is both relaxing and rewarding, especially painting sailing ships.
Dwayne is proud of a number of achievements, including the fact that Dennis Conner, the skipper of 'Stars and Stripes' - the winner of the America’s Cup in 1987 - has one of Dwayne's paintings.
Dwayne was also nominated for Young Achiever Awards, and has exhibited at De Vere Gallery at Cotton Tree, Sunshine Coast and at the Caloundra Arts Festival.
"As I love painting ships, the Queen Mary was an obvious choice for her beauty and historical significance."
