Fei Ng is an emerging artist located in Ipswich, Queensland and was proud to receive an Honorable mention in the Feros Care art competition in 2021.
The majority of Fei's artworks are paintings in acrylic or watercolour.
Fei likes to use nature to describe struggles with mental health, or life challenges.
Fei's painting process includes a lot of experimentation, to obtain the right look or colour before placing any paint on canvas or paper.
Fei likes to use every experience as a learning opportunity, and hopes to bring awareness to others, to understand and have a dialogue about people's struggles with mental illness.
"Living with a mental illness requires courage, especially in the face of other people.
A lot of times, I have to put on that courageous front by putting on a lion mask.
Behind this courageous lion mask, there is a fear of being judged by others.
The mane represents the colourful experiences when I have to confront others about my disability. The positive experiences allow me to build the confidence and courage to live my daily life."
