flight-path
Flight Path

Deb Chilton is an artist who identifies as being disabled. She has struggled with mental health issues from her early teens, the result of living in a world that wasn’t created for her. Deb has spent her whole life being creative - a self-confessed 'doodler' - but it wasn't until a disability support worker said, 'these are not doodles, but saleable art’, that she began to see her creations in a new light.

In 2013, Deb was part of a leadership program which introduced her to the disabled art movement. Since then, she has established her art practice - studying at the Brisbane Institute of Art and exhibiting in various art galleries. Today, Deb's practice focuses on print and design.

Follow Deb on Instagram and Facebook.

This monoprint shows butterflies taking flight - emerging from the darkness of a winter forest to the promise of new life that spring brings.
